Current Government Projects on MSMEs in India (2024–2025)

As of now, the Government of India is actively working on key flagship projects to boost innovation, sustainability, credit access, and digital growth of MSMEs. Below are the top ongoing projects that you can confidently include in your project:

1.RAMP Scheme (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance)

 Status: Ongoing (2022–2025)

 Funded by: World Bank & Government of India (₹6,062 crore)

Objectives:

• Strengthen MSME institutions across states

• Promote green & sustainable practices

• Enable better access to finance and markets

• Improve integration with global supply chains

📌 This is India’s largest active project for MSME sector transformation.

2.Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP)

Status: Ongoing

Objective:

• Develop shared infrastructure for MSME clusters in textiles, food, leather, and manufacturing

Focus Areas:

• Common Facility Centres (CFCs)

• Training & testing labs

• Skill development

📍 Example: A textile MSME cluster in Gujarat is getting ₹15 crore support for quality labs and dyeing centers.

3.PM Vishwakarma Yojana

1 Status: Launched in 2023, active

 Purpose:

To support traditional artisans and craftspeople (carpenters, potters, cobblers, weavers, etc.)

 Features:

• ₹1 lakh loan at 5% interest (collateral-free)

• Skill training, toolkit & branding support

• Encourages inclusion of informal sector into the MSME ecosystem

📌 Target: Empower 30 lakh+ artisans by 2025

4.ZED Certification Project (Zero Defect, Zero Effect)

 Status: Active nationwide

 Aim:

To enhance quality and eco-sustainability of Indian MSMEs

📌 Features:

• Bronze, Silver, Gold quality ratings

• 80–90% subsidy on certification costs

• Promotes export readiness

📍 Focus on MSMEs in textiles, chemicals, auto parts, and food processing

5.Digital MSME Scheme

 Status: Currently being implemented

 Focus:

• Digital onboarding of MSMEs

• Subsidies on cloud-based software

• Webinars on cybersecurity and e-commerce

📌 Goal: Transform 5 lakh MSMEs into paperless, digitally-enabled units

6.Udyam Assist Platform & Integration with GST/IT Systems

 Status: Phase II rollout underway

Objective:

To help informal or micro businesses register and access MSME benefits easily

📍 Aim: Onboard crores of unregistered nano-enterprises

7.Government e-Marketplace (GeM) Onboarding Project

 Status: Ongoing

 Goal:

To onboard over 1.5 crore MSMEs on GeM for government procurement
